TRIC-TRAC TABLE By Louis-Denis ANCELLET (?-1823), Maître ébéniste December 3, 1766 In mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening with two side drawers. Removable rectangular cabaret top darkened with gilded leather and felt on the reverse side, revealing two removable compartments housing a first tric-trac set concealing a second tric-trac set in stained veneer. A removable tray with checkers on one side and chess on the other is slid under the belt to replace the two compartments. Panels highlighted on all sides with a string of gilded metal pearls. Tapered legs with curved flutes and patinated metal sabots. Stamped D L ANCELLET and marked JME Louis XVI period 15 organic tokens, 15 ebony tokens and 2 leather dice cups are included. 74.5 x 115 x 60 cm (slightly oiled, minor wear to leather, small accident to tray)
