Obverse: Marianne with Phrygian bonnet crowned with oak, under an oak tree, with a view of Paris. Circular inscription: "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE".
Reverse: A man carrying a flame, held aloft by a Victory brandishing a laurel wreath. Background: Petit and Grand Palais. Circular inscription: "EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE INTERNATIONALE 1900". Cartouche in exergue indicating the name of the medal recipient. Signed JC CHAPLAIN (Jules-Clément, 1839-1909) at right.
